Credits FAQ

How credits, pricing and render costs work

No hidden tiers, no surprise minutes. Every action in CineSyntax AI is priced in credits, the cost is shown before you spend it, and a failed render gives them back.

How a render is billed

Five steps, all of them visible in your wallet ledger.

  1. 01

    Balance

Your wallet holds every credit you own — welcome credits, plan credits and purchased packs, in one number.

  2. 02

    Estimate

Pick a model and a length and the app multiplies the model's per-second rate by that length.

  3. 03

    Confirm

The render button shows the exact credit cost, and the page shows your balance and the cost of the whole script.

  4. 04

    Debit

Starting the render deducts the cost in a single atomic step, so a job can never run unpaid.

  5. 05

    Refund

If the render fails for any reason — including a blocked prompt — the full cost goes back automatically.

What costs credits

  • Video renders — the model's credits per second × the length you chose.
  • Prompt assistant — 1 credit per “Enhance my prompt” or “Write script from idea” use.
  • Credit packs and plans — money in, credits out; never the other way round.

What is free

  • Creating and organizing film projects and scenes
  • Writing, editing and reordering your script
  • Saving character references and uploading photos
  • AI storyboards and shot lists
  • Saving renders to the script and video libraries
  • Watching and downloading clips you already paid for

What each render costs

Every model's live per-second rate and the credit cost of each length it accepts. Rates are set per model and can be updated by the studio, so this table is always the price you pay.

Costs are rounded up to a whole credit. A render that fails is refunded in full.

Plans and credit packs

A subscription gives you a monthly allowance at the best price per credit. Packs are one-time top-ups with no commitment. Both land in the same wallet and never expire.

Common questions

What is a credit and what is it worth?+

A credit is the unit your wallet is measured in. One credit is worth $0.05 USD, so $1 buys 20 credits. Video renders are priced in credits per second of video, so a length of 5 seconds at 5 credits per second costs 25 credits — about $1.25.

How much does one render cost?+

The model's credits-per-second rate multiplied by the length you chose, rounded up to a whole credit. At the current default rate of 5 credits per second: 5 seconds costs 25 credits, 10 seconds costs 50, and 15 seconds costs 75. The exact number is always shown on the render button before you click it, and every model's current rate is in the table above.

When are credits actually taken from my wallet?+

At the moment the render starts, not when it finishes. The debit happens in one atomic step together with the job record, so a render can never begin without the credits being reserved for it, and your balance is always the true number.

What happens if a render fails?+

The full cost is refunded automatically and the refund appears in your ledger as "Refund: render failed". That includes renders the video model's safety filter refuses — you keep the credits and can rewrite the scene and try again.

Do credits expire?+

No. Credits never expire and unused ones roll over indefinitely, including the monthly credits from a subscription plan. If you stop paying, the credits already in your wallet stay there and remain usable.

Do I need a subscription to buy credits?+

No. Credit packs are one-time purchases with no commitment, and you can buy one on top of any plan. Plan credits and purchased credits land in the same wallet and are spent in the same way.

What do the prompt assistant and storyboards cost?+

Each "Enhance my prompt" or "Write script from idea" use costs 1 credit from your wallet, and that credit is refunded if the rewrite fails to deliver. AI storyboards, writing and editing scenes, saving to the script and video libraries, and watching saved videos cost nothing today.

Are taxes included in the prices?+

The pack and plan prices shown are the base amounts. Applicable taxes are calculated and added by the checkout page based on your billing country, so the card charge can be slightly higher than the listed price.

What happens if a payment is refunded or disputed?+

The credits that purchase added are removed again, so your wallet always matches what you actually paid for. If removing them takes your balance below zero, you top up before the next render.

Can I change plans later?+

Yes. Upgrades apply immediately and are prorated, and the credit difference between the two plans is added to your wallet right away. Downgrades take effect at the end of the period you already paid for, so you never lose access mid-month. Cancelling works the same way: you keep everything until the paid period ends.

What if a renewal payment fails?+

You get a warning in the app before anything changes, and credits already in your wallet are untouched. Update your payment details and the subscription continues.

Where can I see exactly what I paid and what I spent?+

Your wallet ledger lists every credit movement with a reason, Render History shows every render with its model, length, credits and final charge, and Billing History lists every payment with its receipt, invoice and PDF links plus your totals for credits received and credits used.

Can someone add credits to my wallet for me?+

Yes — an admin can top up a filmmaker's wallet. The amount shows up in your ledger as a separate line, so you can always tell a top-up from your own purchase.
