How to Write an AI Video Ad Script With Voiceover

5 min read

The script is where an AI video ad is won or lost. A tight script gives every scene a clear job, keeps the narration short enough to fit the shot, and makes the voiceover easy to generate.

Write the narration first, then the pictures

Start with the voiceover as plain sentences. Read it aloud: a five-second shot holds only a short sentence, so aim for one line per scene.

Then write the shot that shows what the line says. The picture and the words should reinforce each other rather than repeat each other.

Put each spoken line in quotes

In CineSyntax AI, a quoted line inside a scene is treated as dialogue and voiced automatically. For a narrator, add the line in quotes to the scene prompt. For a character, name the speaker so the line uses that character's voice from the voice bank.

Choose a voice once and reuse it

Pick a default voice for each character or narrator so every scene sounds the same. Listen to a sample before you render, and if you change the voice later the affected scenes are flagged so you can voice them again.

Add sound under the voice

Ambient sound and a quiet music bed make the ad feel finished. Keep them low enough that the narration stays clear. Sound and voice are on by default for renders and can be switched off to save credits.

Check the timing before you render

The Script Plan page lists every scene with its timing and spoken lines, so you can see whether the narration fits the length of each shot before spending credits on renders.
