How to Make an AI Video Ad: A Step-by-Step Guide

6 min read

An AI video ad is a short promo built from several AI-generated shots, a voiceover and a sound bed. The workflow below is the one we use in CineSyntax AI: plan the story, generate each shot as its own scene, add sound, then join everything into one film.

1. Decide the one message of the ad

Write one sentence that the viewer should remember: what you sell and why it matters. Every scene should support that sentence. If a shot does not, cut it.

A 30-second ad usually works best as around six short shots of about five seconds each, so plan six beats: hook, problem or craving, product, detail, proof or mood, and a closing call to action.

2. Write one prompt per shot

Each scene in CineSyntax AI is a single continuous shot of roughly 4 to 15 seconds, depending on the model. Describe one moment per prompt: the subject and action, the shot type (close-up, wide, overhead), the camera movement, the lighting and the mood.

Not sure how to word it? Write a rough idea and press Enhance, or use Write script from idea on the Script page to get a set of scenes you can edit.

3. Pick a format that fits where the ad will run

Choose 16:9 for YouTube and websites, 9:16 for vertical feeds and 1:1 for square social posts. Set the clip length and a 540p, 720p or 1080p quality where the model allows it. The credit cost is shown before you render, so you can check the budget for the whole ad first on the Film Budget page.

4. Render each scene and review it

Render the scenes one at a time and watch each result before moving on. A weak shot is cheaper to re-render on its own than to discover after the whole ad is assembled. Failed renders are refunded automatically.

5. Add voiceover, sound and music

Put the spoken lines in quotes inside the scene and the line is voiced for you. Ambient sound can be added per scene, and a music bed can sit underneath the narration. See our guide to ad voiceover and sound for details.

6. Join the scenes and export

Open the project in the Timeline Editor, put the shots in order, trim them and export one finished film. The exported file can be played or downloaded from the project.
